Henry Wischusen

Wood Mixed Media

Hometown: Peachtree Corners, GA

Henry Wischusen took up woodcarving at a young age, at first making small boats and miniature sculptures. After 35 years in the corporate world, he resumed woodcrafting, but with a more environmentally friendly approach.

He creates intricately carved jewelry, home accessories and other items out of pliable wood veneers. By using only veneers, Henry is able to create beautiful accessories with minimal environmental impact. His wooden bracelets, made with thin slivers of wood only 1/40 of an inch thick, easily open and close around your wrist.

All Forestique items retain their natural color to showcase the inherent beauty of the woods. Each piece is coated with organic Tung oil to protect the natural wood surface.
