Tom Wachs forfeited a government job as a geophysicist to pursue professional photography full time in the mid-1980’s. He finds so much satisfaction in photography that he felt compelled to make it his full time career.
At Sugarloaf and other shows, Tom relishes the opportunity to talk with people about his photos, astronomy, travel and current events. He enjoys sharing the behind the scenes stories of his images.
Astronomy subjects are his best sellers, especially images of the August 2017 total solar eclipse.
Tom’s work appears in many government, commercial and non-profit buildings including the FBI, CIA, IRS, AAA, Red Cross, the National Park Service and the Smithsonian.
Say hello during Sugarloaf Crafts Festival and ask Tom how he got some of his amazing shots!
