Mary Ann Mavessey moved to rural Virginia with her husband, Don, in the 1970’s, trading life in the city for the stunning beauty of the Shenandoah Valley.
She is a self-taught artist who took up painting in the early 1980’s while raising young children. Mary Ann’s children, pets and farm animals have always provided an unlimited fount of inspiration and ideas for her painting. She works mostly in oils, interpreting her surroundings, memories and daily life in her artwork.
Her paintings are finished with liquid laminate to protect them from sun, scratches and other substances. Prints are printed on archival, museum-quality giclee-safe paper.
