Charlene and Nancy’s creative partnership beganin in the mid-2000’s when Charlene enrolled in Nancy’s pottery classes at the Columbia Arts Center in Columbia, MD.
Charlene ran a brick and mortar store in Ellicott City for many years so she sold some of Nancy’s ceramics and hired her to teach pottery classes at the store. After the historic flood in 2016, Charlene sold her shop to do craft shows full time. She makes functional and decorative fused glass and pottery pieces richly textured and often bearing her original stamp designs.
Nancy exhibited at Sugarloaf Crafts Festivals in the 1980’s then taught pottery making in public schools for many years. Now retired from full time teaching, she creates slow-fired stoneware and decorative raku for art and craft shows. Both Nancy and Charlene teach part-time between shows.
