Bill and Marcia Finks create one of a kind dolls, candlesticks, wall sculptures and candy dishes using a variety of vintage materials sourced from near and far.
The couple shares a fondness for mid-century design, vintage toys, including tin and wind up toys, and all sorts of antiques. The components of their sculptures are gathered from their travels to Japan, Germany, Italy, Eastern Europe and other places.
Primitive Twig sculptures have appeared in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Newsweek, Martha Stewart Living, House and Garden and other publications. Sharp-eyed fans of the popular TV program, “How I Met Your Mother” and other shows may have spotted their sculptures on air. Since 2009, Bergdorf Goodman has featured Primitive Twig sculptures in their holiday window displays.
When not traveling to art and craft shows or sourcing new materials, Bill and Marcia live in New York’s serene Hudson Valley.
