Elaine Thompson creates oil paintings, graphite pencil drawings, digital prints and limited edition giclees. Her work is inspired by her own childhood and her desire to keep those memories alive. She enjoys the opportunity to spread joy and love with her illustrations, and simply making people laugh out loud.
Customers often say her images resemble those in children’s storybooks and ask her if she illustrates any. As of fall 2017, she is writing and illustrating her own stories. She has also done one cover illustration for on children’s book, Mariner’s Hollow by F.G. Capitanio.
She often paints wolves which she feels represent a peaceful and protective spirit. She also depicts houses, which represent human beings, engaged with the spirit of a wolf.
Her best sellers are her small, matted 8 X 8 and 8 X 10 digital prints. At shows, she likes to offer these at a special price for a set of three prints.
