Eileen Sackman is a ceramic artist currently living and working in Hudson Valley, New York. Eileen has been studying and creating ceramics and sculpture at a high level for nearly 20 years, earning her MFA in Ceramics from State University of New Paltz in 2010. On the other side of the classroom, Sackman devotes much of her time to teaching at workshops, community centers, colleges, and universities.
She uses the ceramic medium to spark intrigue and communicate with viewers about the issues that alarm her most. Her goal is not to simply please the eye or the mind, but open the minds and hearts of her viewers. Instigating a conversation about devastating issues and influence the desire to help solve the problem. Her most recent series focuses on the exploitation and poaching of voiceless animals near extinction. Engage with Eileen Sackman and her truly meaningful artwork at Sugarloaf Craft Festivals.
