Clay Rosenbarker started leather working with a friend in the summer of 1972. The pair opened a leather goods shop together soon after. In this and three other retail ventures, Clay’s original designs outsold other available leather products.
Clay started showing his leather designs in prestigious juried craft shows in the early 1980’s while still operating his retail outlets. In 1985, he sold the stores to focus solely on leathercrafting. Today he works with a small team of skilled crafters in his East Petersburg, PA studio.
He begins by sketching each design with a paper sketch, and from there, he creates a pattern. His buttery soft leather bags and purses are made from the best quality American cowhide and lined with durable, water resistant nylon.
Stop by at an upcoming Sugarloaf Crafts Festival and admire their rich, soft leather goods!
