Georgene Novak remembers picking through her grandmother’s jewelry box as young girl. She would pile on her favorite pieces and march around her grandmother’s house on Sunday afternoon visits.
Over the years, she explored various artistic mediums until finally her love of jewelry won out.
She earned a degree in business management and worked in retail. In 2011, after 20 years in her position, she was unexpectedly let go. This seeming misfortune was a blessing in the end as it freed her up to pursue her dream of running her own business full time. In addition to her own creative work, she teaches jewelry making to other artists.
Every year, on the anniversary of the corporate departure, she sends a thank you message to her former boss!
