Daniel Nie came to the U.S. from his native Shanghai, China on an art scholarship in 1981. Today he is one of the foremost Chinese-American artists in the country.
During his tenure as an art professor at St. Andrews Presbyterian College, he created a new artistic technique he calls “Coolligraphy”. He uses a style of calligraphy to weave the letters of a word or a person’s name into an artistic hieroglyph.
At Sugarloaf Craft Festivals, he creates unique designs using the name or word of your choosing. These designs make great gifts for weddings, anniversaries and graduations.
Daniel is the author of several books about artistic techniques and created two meditation recordings.
