Karen and Georgia Moran are 5th and 6th generation fiber artists and the mother-daughter duo behind the Holston Mountain Hat Project.
Karen taught Georgia to knit and crochet in 2006 and Georgia took to crocheting like a fish to water! Between mother and daughter, they soon produced almost 1000 hats for charitable causes. Orders started coming in from friends and family and they began doing craft shows and farmers markets.
From their home base in the Appalachian Mountains they handcraft a vast collection of hats, headbands and accessories. Over the years, the Holston Mountain Hat Project has donated thousands of handmade hats to children in orphanages and patients dealing with hair loss.
