As a child growing up in Liberia, Fata Mensah watched her mother and her employees working in her home-based sewing business. She turned to them for help making dolls and doll clothes.
Throughout her childhood, she was surrounded by many creative, nurturing family members who taught and inspired her to develop her talents.
From her father’s international travels she learned to appreciate crafts and culture of foreign lands. Her father encouraged her to believe she could accomplish anything she set her mind to.
Today, Fata is a mother to three children who serve as frequent inspiration and product testers in her current work of creating cloth dolls, doll clothes, plush animals, animal hats, storybooks, travel kits and tote bags for children.
