Cove Point Winery is a small-batch winemaker at the tip of southern Maryland’s Calvert County. They’re situated a few miles north of Solomon’s Island and not far from Cove Point Lighthouse, Maryland’s longest-running lighthouse.
They started their boutique operation in 2004 with an initial volume of just 2000 gallons of wine, since increased to over 7000 gallons per year.
Cove Point cultivates their own small vineyard with vines of Cayuga White, Chardonnel, Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin, Merlot and many other varieties. In addition, they also source grapes and juice from other local growers. They aim to make great wines to please every shade of wine lover, from novice to connoisseur.
