Alan Lampe felt an affinity for woodworking while still in high school. But it wasn’t until he was working towards his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Puget Sound, that he became interested in the idea of making sustainable wood products.
Through his day jobs as project engineer at construction sites and working with a lumber distributor, he found an abundance of surplus wood to use for woodcrafting.
In his Kensington, MD studio, Alan crafts beautiful, sustainable wood items, such as cutting boards, calendars, furniture and accessories. His wife, Courtney Kandler, assists with the crafting and promotion of running the business in addition to her work as a physician at Walter Reed Hospital.
