Gregg and Jake Kristophel are a father and son woodworking team. Using cherry wood and other hardwoods from trees grown in their region, they make a variety of kitchen utensils such as spatulas, ladles, dippers, mixing/serving spoons, coffee scoops and many other items.
Their carving methods harken back to the days when early American settlers made utensils out of locally sourced wood. In addition to wood carving, Gregg is a keen participant in living history reenactments of earlier eras, especially the French and Indian war.
Come say hello at the next Sugarloaf Crafts Festival and see firsthand how wooden spoons were carved by early Americans.
