The Wizard of Clay Pottery is a 7 dome geodesic complex that was built in 1979 by Jim Kozlowski (Wizard I) and his wife Lois. Their son, Jamie Wizard II, joined full time in 1994 after learning from his father. Nestled in the Bristol Hills in the Finger Lakes Region of NY, the workshop uses over tens of thousands of pounds of clay each year. Jamie creates wheel-thrown functional stoneware for the kitchen, bath, garden and household.
Many of their pieces are emblazoned with their trademarked Bristoleaf pattern, created using freshly picked leaves from the property surrounding their workshop. The leaves are pressed onto the clay before firing and burn off in the kiln, creating a leafy silhouette in the final design. Jim and Lois retired in 2014. The Wizard of Clay celebrates 40 years of being a family-owned & family-operated business.
