James Kozlowski II

Wizard of Clay

Hometown: Bloomfield, NY

Wizard of Clay Pottery is made by the father-son team of Jim and Jamie Kozlowski and other artisans working in their Bloomfield, NY studio. The pair uses over 100,000 pounds of clay each year making wheel-thrown functional stoneware for the kitchen, bath, garden and household.

Many of their pieces are emblazoned with their trademarked Bristoleaf pattern, created using freshly picked leaves from the Bristol Hills surrounding their workshop. The leaves are pressed onto the clay before firing and burn off in the kiln, creating a leafy silhouette in the final design.

The father and son have worked together since 1994, complementing and fueling each other’s creative spirits.
