Richard Kolb and Chris Hildebrandt are father and son artists who turn discarded metal into amusing yard sculptures. Many of their pieces are constructed from car parts, garden tools, bicycle parts and farm tools. The artists use as much recycled and discarded metal in their work as possible.
Their Yardbirds depict all kinds of creatures having fun - a frog gliding down a playground slide with his arms in the air or a long-eared dog riding a motorcycle. Kolb and Hildebrandt infuse an abundance of playfulness and whimsy into each of their characters.
They welcome custom orders too. If you’d like to immortalize a beloved pet in recycled metal, stop by at the next Sugarloaf Crafts Festival and let them know.
