R. Nemo Hill and his business partner, Julio Perea, create luxurious scarves and shawls hand dyed with color derived from the Indigo plant.
Indigo dyeing is a complicated process which yields unusually vibrant shades of blue fabric. Using a traditional Japanese dye technique called Shibori along with other fabric dyeing methods, Nemo and Julio create beautiful wearable art.
Their shawls and scarves are made from natural fabrics including linen, cotton, wool, bamboo, cashmere and a premium selection of silk fabrics. Each piece in their collection is carefully crafted by hand to produce a perfectly unique item.
The pair runs Exot Blue Dyers from their home base in the Catskills Mountains.
