After she bought a Vitamix blender, Cheryl decided to make a batch of peanut butter with some roasted salted peanuts she had on hand. Once she tasted it, her immediate reaction was, “This is how peanut butter should taste!” And in a matter of minutes, she was contemplating selling her nut butters at farmers markets.
She started with just three flavors (peanut, almond and cashew) and gradually experimented with different add-ins and textures. All of her butters are made with minimal ingredients and no added oils. When you see her butters at a Sugarloaf Crafts Festival, you might notice the oil has not even separated yet.
Her number one seller is Almond with Cranberry, Honey and Cinnamon. People find it absolutely addicting and will eat it by the spoonful. Her second most popular butter is the Almond Butter with Rosemary & Garlic - which many customers are surprised that they actually like! Pistachio Butter is also extremely popular.
Making her own nut butters has opened her eyes to how many strange ingredients are in most commercially sold foods.
