Gary Elliott crafts hanging copper spirals which make mesmerizing home and garden decorations. The spirals are embedded with piece of hand blown glass in the center so that when they spin, the spiral creates an optical illusion as if the glass ball is rising or falling out the top or bottom of the spiral.
Each one is made with 4G copper and either left bare or given a powder coating to change the color. His signature design is a double-tailed spiral which loops back upwards.
He started his business in 2002 while living in Lake Tahoe, NV. He moved to Temple, GA to be near his children and started appearing at Sugarloaf Crafts Festivals in 2016.
Before crafting full time, Gary worked as a sheet metal mechanic for many years. He and his wife ran an earlier crafting business selling metal cases with preserved butterflies.
