Sugarloaf artist Deborah Butts is no stranger to marrying joy and color on a canvas. Her paintings feature any number of scenes inspired by the simple pleasures of the natural world.
Available as prints and/or originals, birds, horses, dogs and rabbits come to life on your walls, while her street scenes, waterscapes and landscapes seem to capture a suspended moment in time. There’s a comfort in her brushstrokes. Her paintings make you feel right at home.
But Deborah doesn’t just stop at the canvas. Many of her designs are also available on tote bags, beach towels, throw pillows, iPhone cases and scores of other home décor and lifestyle items. You don’t have to confine yourself to walls. Who doesn’t love wearable and functional art?
An Ohio native, Deborah spent her childhood in northern France and Quebec, Canada. She attended Ohio State University and received a B.A. in communications before dashing off to the Los Angeles-area to work the entertainment fields. All the while, however, she dabbled in creative and performing arts. We’re glad for it! Her widely diverse background gives her quite a unique eye. She now lives on a 46-acre farm in Pennsylvania where she and her husband raise Thoroughbred racehorses.
